Solutions Engineer, Sales

This position will involve working directly on sales opportunities and will be responsible for supporting and championing the technical scoping of projects for both net-new and organic sales. The role will be responsible for the development of consistent and accurate project scoping, reviewing prospective clients existing analytics implementations, writing Statements of Work, contributing to RFPs and coordinated sales pitches, and participating in sales meetings and presentations. Other initiatives will include development of SOW templates, reviewing and maintaining pricing calculators, developing a database of client technology stacks, knowledge sharing in the company, etc.

The position will be part of our team sales approach that will enable quicker time-to-sale, enable scale in managing more leads with more significant scoping requirements, and will free time for Directors and Managers to focus on relationship development and project delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate in sales calls for new and existing accounts to provide technical expertise, requirements gathering and project scoping through account reviews, business needs assessments and stakeholder meetings.
  • Participate in discovery meetings and/or under the hood client analysis to flush out the opportunities.
  • Participate on pitch team presentations to new and existing clients.
  • Proactively propose and design solutions that solve client issues and focus on creating continuous value over long-term relationships.
  • Lead technical presentations during virtual and on-site meetings with clients, stakeholders and partners.
  • Own the Statement of Work (SOW) for new and existing clients to ensure that proposed solutions are technically sound, appropriately scoped, and in-line with Cardinal Path standards and processes.
  • Actively participate in RFP responses and proposal development, including but not limited to, solutions writeups, pricing, scoping documents, implementation plans, etc.
  • Work with other Cardinal Path departments and staff to develop and maintain scoping/ costing processes and calculators.
  • Create and implement an approach for gaining, documenting, and maintaining a more complete picture of our clients’ existing technology stacks that provides opportunities to add value with additional Cardinal Path services.
  • Develop a framework for technical sales that can be leveraged across all teams at Cardinal Path.
  • Work closely with Directors and Managers to review maturity of clients, use of tools, technology stacks for potential integrations, business needs, etc.
  • Work closely with Cardinal Path product and functional teams to suggest, develop and test innovative offerings that accelerate our client growth.
  • Work closely with Cardinal Path partners, such as Google, Adobe, Tableau, and other primary partnerships..
  • Provide ongoing training and knowledge transfer across Cardinal Path teams to ensure consistency, scale, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Business or similar
  • Strong knowledge of Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics
  • Knowledge of Tag Management Solutions such as Google Tag Manager, Adobe Dynamic Tag Manager, Ensighten, Signal, or Tealium
  • Understanding of JavaScript, HTML and web protocols
  • Experience with web development, preferably with intermediate to advanced JavaScript development involving DOM manipulation and other frameworks
  • Comfortable presenting technical information in front of others
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Experience with SQL-based queries (SQL, MySQL or other), flat-file handling through programmatic code, ETL tools, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript visualization libraries, Bootstrap UI library, Google Analytics implementation libraries, APIs and AJAX/REST-based queries.
  • Experience with iOS and Android app development.
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization platforms.
  • Experience with enterprise cloud data warehousing such as Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, etc.
  • Familiarity and experience across common marketing technology stack tools and technologies including CRM, DMP, testing & personalization, email & marketing automation, social/ monitoring, etc.
  • Familiarity and experience with data science and model-driven digital marketing initiatives in R, SAS, etc. environments.
  • Familiarity and experience with digital multi-touch attribution on platforms such as Google Attribution / 360 (formerly Adometry), Marketshare, VisualIQ, Convertro, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities accordingly, while working with several key stakeholders.
  • Passion for building relationships and helping clients solve their problems.
  • Desire to continuously learn about new technologies, approaches, and the evolving industry.
  • Strong Powerpoint skills.
