Mallory Qualls is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah and is currently residing in Chicago, IL. She is a graduate of School of the Art Institute of Chicago having earned her MA in Art Administration and Policy (2013).
Focusing on photography specific institutions, her thesis, “In Real Life (IRL): A study of the Internet and its relationship to Individuals, Artists and Art Organizations,” questions how institutions can amplify meaningful experiences for visitors through the use of new technologies, focusing primarily on the website. Prior to attending SAIC, she earned her BFA in Photography and Digital Imaging at the University of Utah (2009). While earning her undergraduate degree, she co-founded the Utah Photographic Arts Council, an organization dedicated to promoting photographic artists in the Salt Lake City area.
She has displayed photographic work throughout the Salt Lake City Area and was awarded “Best in Show” in the 2009 Graduating Senior Show. Professionally, Mallory has worked as an account manager at Paramount Acceptance (2010-2011) where she was responsible for custom financial reporting and software training for corporate fitness institutions across the United States, including Urban Active and Gold’s Gym. Prior to her employment with Cardinal Path, Mallory worked as an independent research analyst, often partnering with the Institute of Design.
