Oh my god summer is coming. I’d say this means fewer blog posts for the Monday Roundup, but honestly they seem to be streaming in. This week: MacOS 10.8, making the most of QR codes, new email collection tips, and so much more.
Create
- We start the week with MacWorld and its post on the recent announcement of MacOS X 10.8, bringing even more iOSness to Apple computers. Not sure how I feel about that…
- Next up, Six revisions has a post on getting the most out of QR codes. Some really great ideas here that I wish I had thought of. Stuff like auto-filling emails, telephone numbers and more.
Attract
- Bronto Blog points out something really neat. Google’s communications extension allows you to collect emails through AdWords. Some real potential here.
- Social Media Today has 6 uncomfortable truths about social media. Pretty standard stuff, but it should be stated anyhow. Especially how social media is not direct marketing. Dear god I hate when I hear people talk about it as if it is.
Analyze
- Avinash, as always, has a new post. This time it’s the biggest mistake web analysts make and how to avoid it. The answer is, essentially, the five W’s. What does that mean? I’m not going to tell you.
Optimize
- Despite it’s HORRIBLE and giant opening image (which makes me want to kill my monitor, oh my god) Fastcodesign has an interesting post on the elements that make a good user experience into something great.
- Peter Me comments on user experience design, and what exactly that means. Very phil 301.
