Web Developer/Jr. Implementation Consultant

Location: Vancouver Preferred - Open

This position will involve working side-by-side with our Senior Consultants and will be responsible for supporting and championing the analytic needs of our clients, including mastering technical skills related to web analytics implementations and developing tools to make our work more efficient. The role will be responsible for the development of advanced JavaScript code involving analytics implementations with platforms such as Google Analytics, and the Adobe Marketing Cloud. Other initiatives may include dashboard development, data integration projects, and analytics implementations for mobile apps (iOS and Android). The position will be in a team that will develop competitive advantage through groundbreaking innovation and research & development in this area.

The candidate will often need to work closely with our client’s technology team to identify gaps in the data capture strategy and collaboratively implement enhancements. The candidate will also be expected to partner with multiple business units within the client’s organization as well as outside the company to ensure that best practices in metrics and decision making are being exposed to the client management and core website decision makers.

  • Identify opportunities for automation and innovation in the area of web analytics implementation, quality assurance, reporting and dashboarding
  • Develop advanced JavaScript code for web analytics implementations, browser plugins and other tools
  • Support the internal team in the installation, configuration and use of web analytics
  • Perform quality assurance tests on tracking implementations
  • Conduct technical training and knowledge sharing in web analytics for clients and the project team
  • Work with client development teams to install, configure & use web analytics services such as Google Analytics, Adobe Marketing Cloud, WebTrends, and others
  • Assist with tracking and improving the results of clients marketing campaigns
  • Leverage various platform API’s to develop custom dashboards and other applications that provide increased value and ROI back to our clients and Cardinal Path
  • Provide best practices consulting services to clients in solving their Web analytics platform strategy and technical needs.
  • Partner with multiple business units within the client’s organization as well as outside the company to ensure that best practices in metrics and decision making are being exposed to the client management and core website decision makers.
  • Conduct platform training and knowledge sharing in web analytics for clients and the project team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of HTML and web protocols
  • Experience with web development, especially intermediate to advanced JavaScript development involving DOM manipulation and jQuery
  • Comfortable presenting findings
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Google Analytics Individual Qualification preferred but not required
  • Experience with the following considered a plus for this role:
    • Knowledge of Tag Management Solutions such as Google Tag Manger, Adobe Dynamic Tag Manager, Ensighten, BrightTag, Tealium or TagMan
    • Experience with SQL-based queries (PHP, MySQL or other), flat-file handling through programmatic code, ETL tools
    • Knowledge of D3 JavaScript visualization library, Bootstrap UI library, Google Analytics implementation libraries, APIs and AJAX/REST-based queries
    • Experience with iOS and Android app development

Preference will be given to candidates in Vancouver, however are open to candidates in Ottawa, Phoenix and Chicago. Working remotely will be considered as well. Relocation will not be provided.
