Nathaniel Payne, Associate Director, Data Science & Engineering, Cardinal Path

Nate is a technology leader, systems architect, researcher, marketer, and statistician with over ten years of experience. He is responsible for Data Science, Architecture & Engineering at Cardinal Path.

In this role, Nate manages the delivery of numerous large enterprise data science, engineering, and analytics initiatives, including, machine learning, data modeling, systems architecture design, and data warehousing projects for Cardinal Path’s largest Fortune 1000 clients.

Nate is the company’s predictive analytics subject matter expert, and spends significant time defining, designing, detailing, and leading the technical execution of new analytics and machine learning methodologies in production environments. His specialties include database systems and architectures, cloud computing, software architecture and engineering, machine learning and statistical modeling, market research, marketing and competitive strategy, programmatic media buying, DMP & DSP architecture, and more. Nate frequently finds himself involved in and leading teams working with tools and products including Google Cloud (Compute Engine, BigQuery, CloudSQL, Cloud Storage), AWS, R, Python, SAS, JavaScript, Java, C++, SQL Server, MySQL, Cassandra, Hadoop, Apache's vast array of products, and Tableau.

Nate holds a BBA in Business and MSc in Statistics from Simon Fraser University and is nearly finished his MSc in Computer Science from Georgia Tech. He is currently an instructor at the British Colombia Institute of Technology and a lecturer in the MBA program at Simon Fraser University.
